Bitterroot Valley / Ravalli County

Montana, the lifestyle and place people dream about. The beauty, the serenity and the great outdoors is calling. With numerous high mountain lakes, streams and the Bitteroot River running through the center of the valley, there is always somewhere to go to get away and relax. Whether it is fishing, hiking, ATV’s, horse back riding, camping, hunting, mountain biking or skiing, you will find it here. A place where you can still find wide open spaces, elbow room between neighbors and avoid the crazy highway rush hour traffic. Small town fairs, farmers markets, local artisans, wildlife, clean air and stars in the sky at night. The Bitterroot Valley located in the Northwest corner of the state just South of Missoula, sits between the Sapphire and Bitterroot Mountain ranges running approximately 95 miles from Missoula South to the top of Lost Horse Pass and the Idaho border. The Bitterroot Mountain range adjoins the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness to the West and the Sapphire Mountain range adjoins the Anaconda Pintler Wilderness to the East offering thousands and thousands of acres as a back yard playground for the outdoor enthusiast.

There are several lakes in the area including Lake Como and Painted Rocks Reservoir which are close enough to take a day trip and spend the afternoon enjoying the cool water on a hot summer day or maybe a float down the Bitterroot River might be on your list of summer activities.
