Within an hour of Missoula are a number of wonderful places to call home and find the peaceful tranquility you might be seeking along with an outdoor paradise you are sure to love no matter where you decide to call home and hang your hate. There are many smaller towns on the outskirts of Missoula and they are all beautiful. Alberton, Saint Regis, Thompson Falls, Plains, Arlee, Saint Ignatius, Clinton, Huson, Frenchtown, they all have something to offer if you are seeing small town simplicity. There is also the Seeley Lake area which offers several larger lakes and numerous smaller lakes. The Phillipsburg and Anaconda areas are known for Sapphires, gems, copper and other minerals. Many of these smaller towns have populations under 1000 and most people commute to Missoula for many of their shopping, employment or medical needs. Throughout the entire region, you will find many historical sites, ghost towns, monuments and history. Montana offers a quieter lifestyle for most along with clean air and a night time sky that you would have to see to appreciate. The stars are so bright, feel so close and they light up the sky at night with such an incredible breathtaking display. You will see why Montana is such a desirable place to call home.
